Located on 16 beautiful acres in Walkerton, Indiana.  As a veteran-owned and operated business, we combine military discipline, professional dog training expertise, and a genuine passion for working dogs to deliver top-tier training for handlers and their canine partners. 

Our Mission: Pup Assist is dedicated to developing highly skilled, reliable scent detection and  K9 search teams through disciplined training, real-world scenario preparation, and a deep understanding of canine behavior. We are committed to giving  shelter dogs a second chance by providing them with meaningful work, transforming potential into purpose. We proudly support and empower veterans by providing opportunities with meaningful roles, building strong handler-K9 teams grounded in discipline, trust, and mission focus. Through this mission, we strengthen lives, elevate working dog standards, and serve our communities with teams ready to perform when it matters most.

Whether you’re looking to train a scent detection dog for narcotics, explosives, bed bugs, mushrooms, mold, etc.—or you’re seeking to join as a volunteer trailing team—Pup Assist is your trusted resource. We support local K9 SAR efforts with EMA and fire stations, offer progressive training programs, and provide ongoing support for both new and experienced handlers. (We do not offer rescue courses)

Our classes are designed around real-world scenarios, using positive reinforcement and proven methods to build confidence and success in every team. From group courses and private lessons to certification programs, Pup Assist is committed to helping every dog and handler reach their highest potential.
